Turning Our World Upside Down
The Coronavirus has turned all of our worlds upside down. We all respond to upheaval differently. Some of us are naturally more flexible and meet the challenge head on. While others feel scared, angry, sad and shut down. Change is a natural part of life. Yet, we have woken up to a world in turmoil, our lives having shifted in the blink of an eye.
What do you do when your world is turned upside down?
Accepting a sudden, unexpected change can be destabilizing. The more we are able to be at peace amidst all that is going on in the world, the more able we will be to move with ease and grace. When we accept and embrace the uncertainty, we become more connected to our hearts and can more easily face and transcend our fears and limitations.
“Change is never painful, only resistance to change.” ~The Buddha.
In every change lies a lesson, an opportunity to bring something new into our lives and release something that no longer serves us. Who you are and everything around you is constantly changing. Can you embrace this? Can you accept the uncertainty?
One way is to slow down, pause and reflect. The time we are now living in gives us this opportunity Meditation and yoga can help us turn inward, come into this present moment, and connect to our hearts and to the now. Perhaps my “Awakening Your Heart Meditation” will help you move through these difficult times, empowering you to greet change with an open heart, while keeping body and soul together.
We are all different, but we are all together in experiencing our as we knew it world being turned upside down. And we will get through this together, because, and I believe deep in my heart, the world is a beautiful place, a place filled with love and infinite possibilities, even now, even when we find ourselves suddenly standing on our heads.
