Empowering People Through Yoga and Meditation

Surviving Coronavirus

There is an old saying that knowledge is power.  However, in times like this I suggest staying informed by being mindful about your exposure to the flood of information coming at you from multiple platforms.

·         There is an old saying that knowledge is power.  However, in times like this I suggest staying informed by being mindful about your exposure to the flood of information coming at you from multiple platforms. Instead of keeping on the television or reading online, tune into one of my meditations and breathe (click here).

·         Exercise is extremely  important to promote calm and a general sense of wellbeing. Practice yoga at home or with me (click here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxfF9zg0kCA ).  We have podcasts and yoga classes on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=majestic+yoga+studio+lindsay+gibson ). Find some time every day to take a walk – being outside soothes the central nervous system, allows for deeper more mindful breathing, and creates opportunity to breathe clean air.

·         Eat well and, again, mindfully. Try to develop a balanced eating plan that includes 50-100 grams of protein per day, 10 servings of vegetables and lots of dark leafy greens, some carbs in the form of brown rice, sweet potatoes, quinoa, barley, spelt bread, and a touch of sugar in the form of 85-90% dark chocolate will help regulate your metabolism and have the added benefit of making you happy.

·         Stay in touch with loved ones, family, friends, and me. Try to remember we are all in this together and can each in our own ways provide support, guidance, information, and community. Keep on checking into my website and blog. I’ll be in touch!
